What we know
The story appears to be
almost the same as Yoshi's Story. Yoshi's island gets turned into the pages
of a storybook again, but your main opponent is Bowser himself. You meet a
whole new array of characters too.
Translated from 'Yoshi no Banyuu Inryoku',
Yoshi's universal gravitation Is a definite 'go ahead', but it appears to be
Japan-only. Pre-orders are going up with cartridges with no regional
restriction, which means GBA handhelds all over the world will play it, it's
also using the Yoshi's Story graphical engine. Remember there were rumors
going round that Yoshi's Story was being made for GBA? Well, it looks as
though it's a no-go. The graphical engine has been used for Universal
Gravitation instead. It's 'different' too. The
cartridge is loaded with a motion sensor to have Yoshi
respond to the players movements. One thing's for sure, Yoshi's going to be
morphing into a large variety of vehicles again.
Judging by the cover, it
certainly looks like a fun game, but, "Never judge a book by its cover".

As you can expect, it's
all Japanese and Yoshi Soul most likely knows more Japanese than I ever
will, but I'll give you a little insight into what it's like.
Currently being played
on an original purple GBA Handheld, it's strange because you need the unit
vertical for the sensor to respond correctly to the tilts. While it's ok to
have it how you would normally hold it, it sometimes doesn't respond. The
game play is fun, but you could do with knowing what's coming up on the
screen, instead of guessing. Obviously, the sensor needs calibrating the
first time you use the game. It's fun, but I need a translator by my side to
understand what's going on, heh. The tilting certainly requires a little
getting used to also.
That's about as much as
I can provide for you so far I'm afraid. Keep an eye on the update page for
changes.
