>>> Mario Party 4

The Story

There is none it appears, just like in the rest of the Mario Party series.

The Game

Ok. I admit. I'm a newbie to the Mario Party series and yes, I'm not supposed to be starting with Mario Party 4 and apparently Mario Party 2 was the best as other people say but oh well, I want to get the Gamecube section of Yoshi's appearances complete. That'll be a bonus, heh.

After half an hour understanding the rules, having a go on the board and trying a minigame, I think I as a 21-year old could get into it. It's not the average Mario game. The minigame I just did was (I can't remember) paratrooper plunge(?), and lost, miserably, heh. Still, first time it's to be expected. Rules are simple to understand (Lets see if I get this right).

Start game:

'throw the dice' to determine the first character to go first. The character who has the highest number goes first.

'Throw the dice' again to determine how many paces in front your character can go.

If you land on a blue space, you get 3 coins.

If you land on a red space, you lose 3 coins.

After all characters have had their go, a minigame is chosen. This is completely random. According to your space, your 'game panel' will turn that colour, and this determines whether you'll be on a team, against 3, or (As I like to say) 'every Yoshi for himself!'.

After a few more minigames, it's quite fun, but it'd be better if the lads came down for a game, although, their too busy taking fuzzies in (Yoshi's island joke! You don't get it do you? pfft.).

21/2/05 - Screenshot added! Enjoy! I would have got more, but there's not very many only Yoshi ones.

>>> Codes

1.- Adjusting the amount of cheer your character generates

Want something to mess about with while you're waiting for your own go on the board? Try this on for size.

"L" and "C-stick up" Increases the amount of cheer your character forwards out.
"L" with "C-stick down" decreases the amount of cheer your character forwards out (This is mine. I don't cheer the competition).

>>> FAQs

1.- Hey PinkFloydYoshi, what Mario Party character do you use?

In the hour I've played it, well, ya know, I play to win, so Yoshi...

2.- What is a Gadd light?

A 'gadd light' protects you from having coins stolen from you when a greedy fool decides to ask the assistance of the boos. I've had it done to me without me knowing I have to press A repeatedly in order to stop it taking as many coins or stars. Funny, I'm sure Yoshi could have eaten it. He wouldn't have got away with any then...
